　先日の京都の亀岡での事故に続き，今度はディズニー行きのバスの事故に関する記事です。The Mainichi（04/29/12付）を以下に抜粋します。最近，車やバスの大事故が多い気がします。

　The police said they had not found any skid marks near the accident site and the driver, Kazan Kono, 43, admitted he had dozed off before the accident. There was no substitute driver aboard the overnight bus, they said.
　The six dead women were all around 20 years old, while the male passenger who died was middle-aged, the police said, adding two of the injured passengers are in a serious condition.

　車が「スリップする」時には，「slip」は使いません。「skid」を使うのですね。なので，「スリップ跡」はskid markとなっています。では，skidの類義語であるslip，slideの語義を比較しましょう。
