　注目したいのは，タイトルにあるgo westです。go westは「西に行け」という訳になりますが，このフレーズはもう少し深い意味が込められています。これは「アメリカに行く」という意味で使われる語句です。19世紀のアメリカの西部開拓時代の標語に，Go west, young man.というものがありました。これは「若者よ西部へ行け」という意味で，「新天地を求めよ」を表します（『リーダーズ英和辞典』研究社）。
　本文の引用箇所は最後の２パラグラフですが，そこからもアメリカに行くことは音楽家としても，また人間的にも大きく成長できると述べられていることが分かります。タイトルに，Go Westを用いることで，最後のパラグラフで言わんとしていることがうまく集約されているといえるでしょう。
