　久しぶりの更新となってしまいました。先日取り寄せた，Conversation Analysis and Second Language Pedagogy（Wong & Waring, 2010）より英語表現を拾います。

　ここに出てくるumbrellaは形容詞として使われています。形容詞のumbrellaは「包括的な，上部（組織[団体]）の」という意味です（『リーダーズ英和辞典』研究社）。LDOCEで語義を確認すると，umbrella term/word/titleでa word whose meaning includes many different types of a particular thingと書かれています。例文を取り上げます。
